About Me

A lecturer in Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing and Physical Geography at the department of Geography and Resource Development, University of Ghana. Dr. Owusu holds a PhD in Earth Systems and Geoinformation Science from the George Mason University, Fairfax Virginia. He also holds three Masters degrees in Geography, Development Planning and Environmental Planning. His special interests are spatial planning, geospatial data infrastructure and land use planning, Geographic Information Systems, remote sensing, spatial analysis, early warning systems and human dimensions of the environment. He has held several positions including an adjunct professor in physical geography at the Northern Virginia Community College Virginia, Geographic Information systems' Specialist at Boulder County, Colorado and a Market Research and Product Development Specialist at the Affinion Group of Companies in Westerville Ohio. His consulting experience in spatial planning and natural resource mapping extends beyond the borders of Ghana.
